Barangay Magcapay

Situated in Leon, Iloilo, Barangay Magcapay is one of 85 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Magcapay had a population of 232. This made it the 73rd largest of 85 barangays in Leon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magcapay accounted for approximately 0.45% of the total population of Leon, which stood at 51,990 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 227 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 232 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Magcapay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
