Barangay Salngan

Situated in Leon, Iloilo, Barangay Salngan is one of 85 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

This made it the 58th largest of 85 barangays in Leon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salngan accounted for approximately 0.59% of the total population of Leon, which stood at 51,990 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Salngan changed from 281 to 306, a shift of +8.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Leon. Barangay Salngan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
