Barangay Agape

Situated in Loay, Bohol, Barangay Agape is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Agape had a population of 662. This made it the 16th largest of 24 barangays in Loay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Agape accounted for approximately 3.71% of the total population of Loay, which stood at 17,855 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Agape moving from 641 residents to 662 residents, an intercensal change of +3.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Agape as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loay is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Agape, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Agape ranks 792nd by 2020 population.
