Barangay Alegria Norte

Barangay Alegria Norte is a very small barangay in the municipality of Loay, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alegria Norte had a population of 277. This made it the 23rd largest of 24 barangays in Loay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alegria Norte accounted for approximately 1.55% of the total population of Loay, which stood at 17,855 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alegria Norte moving from 300 residents to 277 residents, an intercensal change of -7.7%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alegria Norte as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loay is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alegria Norte, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
