Barangay Amsipit

Barangay Amsipit is a large barangay in the municipality of Maasim, located in the province of Sarangani, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Amsipit had a population of 5,137. This made it the 5th largest of 16 barangays in Maasim by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Amsipit accounted for approximately 7.91% of the total population of Maasim, which stood at 64,940 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Amsipit moving from 4,367 residents to 5,137 residents, an intercensal change of +17.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Amsipit as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Maasim is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Amsipit, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
