Barangay San Jose

Barangay San Jose is a small barangay in the municipality of Mabini, located in the province of Batangas, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Jose had a population of 843. This made it the 30th largest of 34 barangays in Mabini by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Jose accounted for approximately 1.66% of the total population of Mabini, which stood at 50,858 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Jose moving from 876 residents to 843 residents, an intercensal change of -3.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Jose as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mabini is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Jose, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
