Barangay Delusom

Barangay Delusom is a small barangay in the municipality of Mahayag, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Delusom had a population of 1,478. This made it the 12th largest of 29 barangays in Mahayag by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Delusom accounted for approximately 3.06% of the total population of Mahayag, which stood at 48,258 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Delusom moving from 1,516 residents to 1,478 residents, an intercensal change of -2.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Delusom as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
