Barangay Kabuhi

Barangay Kabuhi is a small barangay in the municipality of Mahayag, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Kabuhi had a population of 1,356. This made it the 16th largest of 29 barangays in Mahayag by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kabuhi accounted for approximately 2.81% of the total population of Mahayag, which stood at 48,258 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kabuhi moving from 1,513 residents to 1,356 residents, an intercensal change of -10.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Kabuhi is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
