Barangay Caputatan Sur

Barangay Caputatan Sur is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Medellin, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Caputatan Sur had a population of 2,772. This made it the 9th largest of 19 barangays in Medellin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caputatan Sur accounted for approximately 4.65% of the total population of Medellin, which stood at 59,605 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Caputatan Sur changed from 2,712 to 2,772, a shift of +2.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Medellin. Barangay Caputatan Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
