Barangay Gibitngil

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Gibitngil is one of the administrative divisions of Medellin in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gibitngil had a population of 2,216. This made it the 14th largest of 19 barangays in Medellin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gibitngil accounted for approximately 3.72% of the total population of Medellin, which stood at 59,605 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Gibitngil changed from 2,128 to 2,216, a shift of +4.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Medellin. Barangay Gibitngil is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Medellin is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gibitngil, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
