Barangay Buyun

Barangay Buyun is a small barangay in the municipality of Peñablanca, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buyun had a population of 866. This made it the 22nd largest of 24 barangays in Peñablanca by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buyun accounted for approximately 1.72% of the total population of Peñablanca, which stood at 50,300 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buyun moving from 965 residents to 866 residents, an intercensal change of -10.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Buyun is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Peñablanca is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buyun, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
