Situated in Pio Duran, Albay, Barangay Cuyaoyao is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cuyaoyao had a population of 1,765. This made it the 9th largest of 33 barangays in Pio Duran by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cuyaoyao accounted for approximately 3.60% of the total population of Pio Duran, which stood at 49,070 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,618 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,765 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Cuyaoyao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
