Barangay Lawinon

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Lawinon is one of the administrative divisions of Pio Duran in Albay, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lawinon had a population of 1,366. This made it the 14th largest of 33 barangays in Pio Duran by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lawinon accounted for approximately 2.78% of the total population of Pio Duran, which stood at 49,070 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,280 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,366 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lawinon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pio Duran is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lawinon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
