Barangay New Sagay

Barangay New Sagay forms part of Roseller Lim, a municipality in Zamboanga Sibugay, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay New Sagay had a population of 1,460. This made it the 15th largest of 26 barangays in Roseller Lim by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Sagay accounted for approximately 3.35% of the total population of Roseller Lim, which stood at 43,575 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Sagay changed from 1,360 to 1,460, a shift of +7.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Roseller Lim. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay New Sagay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Roseller Lim is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Sagay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay New Sagay ranks 181st by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
