Barangay Bacsil

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bacsil is one of the administrative divisions of San Juan in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bacsil had a population of 1,012. This made it the 10th largest of 32 barangays in San Juan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bacsil accounted for approximately 3.79% of the total population of San Juan, which stood at 26,674 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bacsil moving from 1,068 residents to 1,012 residents, an intercensal change of -5.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bacsil as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Juan is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bacsil, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
