Barangay Baliw

Barangay Baliw is a small barangay in the municipality of San Juan, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Baliw had a population of 922. This made it the 13th largest of 32 barangays in San Juan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baliw accounted for approximately 3.46% of the total population of San Juan, which stood at 26,674 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Baliw moving from 859 residents to 922 residents, an intercensal change of +7.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Baliw as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
