Barangay Camanggaan

Situated in San Juan, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Camanggaan is one of 32 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Camanggaan had a population of 650. This made it the 24th largest of 32 barangays in San Juan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Camanggaan accounted for approximately 2.44% of the total population of San Juan, which stood at 26,674 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 641 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 650 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.4%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Camanggaan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Juan is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Camanggaan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Ilocos Sur, which contains 768 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Camanggaan ranks 466th by 2020 population.
