Situated in Sirawai, Zamboanga Del Norte, Barangay Culasian is one of 34 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Culasian had a population of 804. This made it the 8th largest of 34 barangays in Sirawai by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Culasian accounted for approximately 2.58% of the total population of Sirawai, which stood at 31,163 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Culasian changed from 845 to 804, a shift of -4.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Sirawai. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Culasian as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
