Situated in Tagkawayan, Quezon, Barangay Tunton is one of 45 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

This made it the 16th largest of 45 barangays in Tagkawayan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tunton accounted for approximately 2.12% of the total population of Tagkawayan, which stood at 54,003 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tunton moving from 898 residents to 1,146 residents, an intercensal change of +27.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tunton as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
