Barangay Lacong

Situated in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Lacong is one of 43 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lacong had a population of 949. This made it the 21st largest of 43 barangays in Tagudin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lacong accounted for approximately 2.28% of the total population of Tagudin, which stood at 41,538 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lacong changed from 934 to 949, a shift of +1.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Tagudin. Barangay Lacong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tagudin is a municipality comprising 43 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lacong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
