Barangay Causwagan

Barangay Causwagan forms part of Talacogon, a municipality in Agusan Del Sur, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Causwagan had a population of 3,132. This made it the 5th largest of 16 barangays in Talacogon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Causwagan accounted for approximately 7.89% of the total population of Talacogon, which stood at 39,678 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Causwagan moving from 3,055 residents to 3,132 residents, an intercensal change of +2.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Causwagan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talacogon is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Causwagan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
