Barangay Sabang Gibung

Barangay Sabang Gibung is a small barangay in the municipality of Talacogon, located in the province of Agusan Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sabang Gibung had a population of 833. This made it the 15th largest of 16 barangays in Talacogon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sabang Gibung accounted for approximately 2.10% of the total population of Talacogon, which stood at 39,678 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sabang Gibung moving from 961 residents to 833 residents, an intercensal change of -13.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Sabang Gibung is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talacogon is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sabang Gibung, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
