Barangay Lower Tiparak

Barangay Lower Tiparak is a small barangay in the municipality of Tambulig, located in the province of Zamboanga Del Sur, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lower Tiparak had a population of 1,850. This made it the 7th largest of 31 barangays in Tambulig by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lower Tiparak accounted for approximately 4.94% of the total population of Tambulig, which stood at 37,480 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lower Tiparak changed from 1,807 to 1,850, a shift of +2.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Tambulig. Barangay Lower Tiparak is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tambulig is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lower Tiparak, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lower Tiparak ranks 143rd by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
