Barangay New Village (Pob.)

Barangay New Village (Pob.) forms part of Tambulig, a municipality in Zamboanga Del Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay New Village (Pob.) had a population of 1,982. This made it the 5th largest of 31 barangays in Tambulig by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. The barangay recorded 1,920 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,982 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay New Village (Pob.) is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tambulig is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Village (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay New Village (Pob.) ranks 124th by 2020 population.
