Barangay San Bernardo

Situated in Tiwi, Albay, Barangay San Bernardo is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Bernardo had a population of 2,046. This made it the 13th largest of 25 barangays in Tiwi by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Bernardo accounted for approximately 3.62% of the total population of Tiwi, which stood at 56,444 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,759 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,046 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +16.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay San Bernardo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tiwi is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Bernardo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
