This made it the 9th largest of 32 barangays in Tuao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Battung accounted for approximately 3.59% of the total population of Tuao, which stood at 63,970 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Battung moving from 2,359 residents to 2,297 residents, an intercensal change of -2.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community.
