Barangay San Pedro (Pob.)

Barangay San Pedro (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Viga, located in the province of Catanduanes, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Pedro (Pob.) had a population of 522. This made it the 22nd largest of 31 barangays in Viga by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Pedro (Pob.) accounted for approximately 2.28% of the total population of Viga, which stood at 22,869 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 571 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 522 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -8.6%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Pedro (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Viga is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Pedro (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Catanduanes, which contains 315 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Pedro (Pob.) ranks 213th by 2020 population.
