Barangay Bakir

Situated in Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya, Barangay Bakir is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bakir had a population of 974. This made it the 17th largest of 17 barangays in Bagabag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bakir accounted for approximately 2.56% of the total population of Bagabag, which stood at 37,985 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bakir moving from 1,008 residents to 974 residents, an intercensal change of -3.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Bakir is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bagabag is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bakir, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
