Barangay Boctol

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Boctol is one of the administrative divisions of Balilihan in Bohol, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Boctol had a population of 1,313. This made it the 1st largest of 31 barangays in Balilihan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Boctol accounted for approximately 7.02% of the total population of Balilihan, which stood at 18,694 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Boctol changed from 1,322 to 1,313, a shift of -0.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Balilihan. Barangay Boctol is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balilihan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Boctol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Boctol ranks 331st by 2020 population.
