Barangay Cantalid

Situated in Balilihan, Bohol, Barangay Cantalid is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cantalid had a population of 413. This made it the 24th largest of 31 barangays in Balilihan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cantalid accounted for approximately 2.21% of the total population of Balilihan, which stood at 18,694 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 400 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 413 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Cantalid is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balilihan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cantalid, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cantalid ranks 988th by 2020 population.
