Barangay 2 (Pob.)

Situated in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, Barangay 2 (Pob.) is one of 30 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 2 (Pob.) had a population of 878. This made it the 27th largest of 30 barangays in Balingasag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 2 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 1.18% of the total population of Balingasag, which stood at 74,385 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay 2 (Pob.) changed from 1,023 to 878, a shift of -14.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Balingasag. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 2 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balingasag is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay 2 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
