Barangay Bilis

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bilis is one of the administrative divisions of Burgos in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bilis had a population of 1,212. This made it the 2nd largest of 12 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bilis accounted for approximately 13.46% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 9,006 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bilis moving from 1,130 residents to 1,212 residents, an intercensal change of +7.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bilis as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bilis, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bilis ranks 272nd by 2020 population.
