Barangay Upper Tumapoc

Barangay Upper Tumapoc is a small barangay in the municipality of Burgos, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Upper Tumapoc had a population of 898. This made it the 4th largest of 12 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Upper Tumapoc accounted for approximately 9.97% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 9,006 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Upper Tumapoc moving from 824 residents to 898 residents, an intercensal change of +9.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Upper Tumapoc as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Upper Tumapoc, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
