Barangay New Poblacion

Barangay New Poblacion is a small barangay in the municipality of Burgos, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay New Poblacion had a population of 891. This made it the 5th largest of 12 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Poblacion accounted for approximately 9.89% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 9,006 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay New Poblacion moving from 885 residents to 891 residents, an intercensal change of +0.7%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay New Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
