Barangay Imelda

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Imelda is one of the administrative divisions of Burgos in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Imelda had a population of 478. This made it the 9th largest of 12 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Imelda accounted for approximately 5.31% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 9,006 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Imelda moving from 387 residents to 478 residents, an intercensal change of +23.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Imelda as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Imelda, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
