Barangay Mateo

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Mateo is one of the administrative divisions of City of Kidapawan in Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mateo had a population of 2,857. This made it the 17th largest of 40 barangays in City of Kidapawan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Mateo accounted for approximately 1.78% of the total population of City of Kidapawan, which stood at 160,791 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mateo changed from 2,241 to 2,857, a shift of +27.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Kidapawan. Barangay Mateo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

City of Kidapawan is a city comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mateo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
