Barangay Nuangan

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Nuangan is one of the administrative divisions of City of Kidapawan in Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Nuangan had a population of 5,397. This made it the 8th largest of 40 barangays in City of Kidapawan by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Nuangan accounted for approximately 3.36% of the total population of City of Kidapawan, which stood at 160,791 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Nuangan changed from 2,485 to 5,397, a shift of +117.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in City of Kidapawan. Barangay Nuangan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

City of Kidapawan is a city comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nuangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Barangay Nuangan is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
