This made it the 33rd largest of 40 barangays in City of Kidapawan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the city. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Onica changed from 1,630 to 1,573, a shift of -3.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in City of Kidapawan.
