Barangay Balocawe

Barangay Balocawe is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Dimasalang, located in the province of Masbate, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balocawe had a population of 2,587. This made it the 2nd largest of 20 barangays in Dimasalang by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balocawe accounted for approximately 10.39% of the total population of Dimasalang, which stood at 24,909 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balocawe moving from 2,607 residents to 2,587 residents, an intercensal change of -0.8%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Balocawe is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
