Barangay Canomay

Situated in Dimasalang, Masbate, Barangay Canomay is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Canomay had a population of 2,944. This made it the 1st largest of 20 barangays in Dimasalang by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Canomay accounted for approximately 11.82% of the total population of Dimasalang, which stood at 24,909 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Canomay moving from 2,925 residents to 2,944 residents, an intercensal change of +0.6%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Canomay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dimasalang is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Canomay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
