Barangay Buracan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Buracan is one of the administrative divisions of Dimasalang in Masbate, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Buracan had a population of 1,098. This made it the 10th largest of 20 barangays in Dimasalang by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buracan accounted for approximately 4.41% of the total population of Dimasalang, which stood at 24,909 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buracan moving from 1,079 residents to 1,098 residents, an intercensal change of +1.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Buracan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
