Barangay San Vicente

Situated in Dimasalang, Masbate, Barangay San Vicente is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Vicente had a population of 460. This made it the 18th largest of 20 barangays in Dimasalang by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Vicente accounted for approximately 1.85% of the total population of Dimasalang, which stood at 24,909 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 423 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 460 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Vicente as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dimasalang is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Vicente, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Vicente ranks 526th by 2020 population. Masbate is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
