Barangay T.R. Yangco

Barangay T.R. Yangco is a small barangay in the municipality of Dimasalang, located in the province of Masbate, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay T.R. Yangco had a population of 1,068. This made it the 11th largest of 20 barangays in Dimasalang by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay T.R. Yangco accounted for approximately 4.29% of the total population of Dimasalang, which stood at 24,909 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,066 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,068 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.2%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay T.R. Yangco as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Dimasalang is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay T.R. Yangco, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay T.R. Yangco ranks 347th by 2020 population. Masbate is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections.
