Barangay Vista Alegre

Barangay Vista Alegre forms part of Ilog, a municipality in Negros Occidental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Vista Alegre had a population of 3,229. This made it the 11th largest of 15 barangays in Ilog by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Vista Alegre accounted for approximately 5.39% of the total population of Ilog, which stood at 59,855 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,606 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,229 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -10.5%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Vista Alegre as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ilog is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Vista Alegre, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
