Barangay Camandag

Barangay Camandag is a large barangay in the municipality of La Castellana, located in the province of Negros Occidental, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Camandag had a population of 5,612. This made it the 5th largest of 13 barangays in La Castellana by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Camandag accounted for approximately 7.06% of the total population of La Castellana, which stood at 79,492 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Camandag changed from 4,622 to 5,612, a shift of +21.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in La Castellana. Barangay Camandag is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

La Castellana is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Camandag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
