Barangay Yanangan

Barangay Yanangan forms part of Loay, a municipality in Bohol, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Yanangan had a population of 916. This made it the 7th largest of 24 barangays in Loay by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Yanangan accounted for approximately 5.13% of the total population of Loay, which stood at 17,855 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 779 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 916 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Yanangan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loay is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Yanangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Yanangan ranks 584th by 2020 population.
