Barangay Pagsanaan Sur

Barangay Pagsanaan Sur is a small barangay in the municipality of Magsingal, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pagsanaan Sur had a population of 656. This made it the 24th largest of 30 barangays in Magsingal by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pagsanaan Sur accounted for approximately 2.10% of the total population of Magsingal, which stood at 31,308 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 655 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 656 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.2%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Pagsanaan Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magsingal is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pagsanaan Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
