Barangay Poblacion North

Situated in Oton, Iloilo, Barangay Poblacion North is one of 37 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion North had a population of 1,322. This made it the 23rd largest of 37 barangays in Oton by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion North accounted for approximately 1.34% of the total population of Oton, which stood at 98,509 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,328 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,322 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.5%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion North as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oton is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion North, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
