Barangay Tuburan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Tuburan is one of the administrative divisions of Oton in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tuburan had a population of 672. This made it the 36th largest of 37 barangays in Oton by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tuburan accounted for approximately 0.68% of the total population of Oton, which stood at 98,509 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tuburan changed from 550 to 672, a shift of +22.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Oton. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tuburan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Oton is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tuburan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tuburan ranks 1087th by 2020 population.
