Barangay Amontoc

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Amontoc is one of the administrative divisions of San Gabriel in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Amontoc had a population of 2,051. This made it the 4th largest of 15 barangays in San Gabriel by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Amontoc accounted for approximately 10.83% of the total population of San Gabriel, which stood at 18,943 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Amontoc moving from 2,023 residents to 2,051 residents, an intercensal change of +1.4%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Amontoc as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
